I really love this place as they have some of the only good Korean food in town but as of lately the soups have not been consistent in flavor. The kimchi jjigae I got a few weeks ago tasted like pepper water with kimchi and had little to no pork or tofu. This is usually my go to but I could barely eat it because it tasted so bad. Today I got soondoobu and again it just tasted like pepper water with no flavor and is lacking on veggies like normal. Please fix this, I love this place and it’s upsetting getting terrible quality food when I know you have potential.

Authentic Korean food that's absolutely delicious! Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and full of flavor. The Korean BBQ was amazing, and the side dishes were so good. Super friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. Definitely the best Korean spots in town! Highly recommend!

I decided to try this place because of all the glowing Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst Korean food I’ve ever had. When the owner asked how we heard about the restaurant, we told him we’d seen all the great Yelp reviews. He laughed and said he paid for them. Maybe he was joking… but after the meal, I wasn’t so sure. I lived in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, for two years, so I know what authentic Korean food tastes like. What was served here wasn’t it. My bulgogi was inexplicably sitting on a bed of half-cooked shredded cabbage that looked like someone had borrowed the coleslaw mix before it made it to the salad. Bulgogi and coleslaw? That’s a plot twist I wasn’t prepared for. I really wanted to like this place, but the food was disappointing from start to finish. Save your money and your taste buds—this is one Korean drama you don’t want to star in.

This cozy Korean family-owned restaurant completely stole my heart. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and enjoy every bite. It’s not fancy — and it doesn’t need to be. You come here for unbelievably good food made with care and love. Honestly, choosing from the menu felt impossible because everything sounded amazing. Now I’m completely hooked and already planning my next visit just to try more dishes. The seafood pancake alone was unforgettable — I still can’t stop drooling thinking about it. Crispy, flavorful, perfectly balanced… absolutely incredible. The food feels comforting in the best way. It’s not greasy, many dishes are naturally dairy-free, and every bite tastes fresh, satisfying, and full of happiness. This is the kind of food your stomach craves when you want comfort and real quality. If you love Asian food or Korean cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Every dish tasted like it was made with love. I’m already looking forward to coming back again.

This is the kind of place you crave long before you even pull into the parking lot. It’s unpretentious, cozy, and completely focused on the food. No gimmicks, no trendy twists, just authentic, deeply comforting Korean dishes done right. It has quickly become our go-to spot whenever we want something truly satisfying. Our favorites keep growing, but the seasoned fried tofu is incredible, the kimbap is fresh and satisfying, and the tempura soft shell crab is perfectly crisp. The grilled atka mackerel is beautifully done, and both the doen jang jjigae and soon tofu stew are pure comfort in a bowl. And of course, the homemade side dishes are a highlight all on their own - so much so that we order extras to take home. If you’re looking for authentic Korean food that feels soulful, welcoming, and consistently amazing, Korean Ssam Bar is it. Helpful info: spice levels can be adjusted for those days when your tongue needs a break. You can also order their homemade side dishes to take home in pint ($6) or quart ($10) sizes, which is a dangerous but wonderful temptation.
